I made the mistake of getting fitted at Club Champion. I opted to go there because they were running a special on a fitting for my whole bag, so it saved money from that perspective. However, from the moment I walked in there I felt like there may have been an agenda. I told my fitter that I had been unemployed for 6 months and shouldn't be looking for new clubs but could do it within a budget. We then proceeded to try out every high end item in that place. I kept asking how much things were and was told "they are all about the same" so I just went with it. In the end, I was told I need a 7S Velocore TR driver shaft with a G440 LST head but Fujikura Pro graphite irons at a senior flex of 75 R2. with P790 heads. Since, I learned that is a very large delta so I was skeptical. The total cost was ~$4300! For a complete build of a driver and 7 irons. They "pure" every shaft which cost $70/ea. There is no way around it. If you want the club from there you must have it done. So I researched the benefits. You may want to consider it if you're a scratch golfer but most of the pros don't pure their shafts so why would a weekend golfer. I decided to look for components online and found everything much cheaper but now needed someone to build the club. I walked into Loggerhead and told them what I needed. They were perplexed at the major differences in the shafts and asked me to step into a bay for a few swings. I worked with Paul, who I highly recommend. In about 10 mins I learned I wasn't fitted properly. As I expected, Champion was feeding me top of the line gear hoping for a commission rather than listening to my needs. Loggerhead could've just taken my money and built my clubs but they care that golfers have what's best for them ... not just commission. Paul noticed that my irons would work better for me if they were bent in a couple of degrees. He handed me a club and just like that I gained yardage and accuracy. So now with the money I will save by returning those senior shafts, I'm going to book lessons with their head pro. This is how business is done. They earned a customer for life.

It was time for a new set of clubs and I knew I needed professional fitting help. Several guys in my golf group recommended I try Loggerhead and I couldn't have been happier that I did. I had a full bag fitting with Kyle Tomberlin and had a great experience! He was extremely knowledgable and directed me towards the "right set" of clubs based purely on the analysis of my swing, with no pressure for a specific manufacturer. I ended up with a new set of TaylorMade Qi4D irons, hybrids & fairway wood. And he was honest enough to recommend I stick with my current driver given his analysis. Highly recommend Kyle & Loggerhead if you're in the market for new clubs!
